a. Note:   Samuel James Jolly and wife Malinda Robertson moved in a covered wagon from Breckinridge Co., KY to Gentry Co. MO in 1852 with their small family. He became a large landowner and was an extensive stockman. None of this family ever returned to Ky from Gentry Co., MO.
 Samuel James Jolly served in the Civil War as a first lieutenant.Records say that his son, Benjamin Franklin Jolly, died of measles in a Civil War Camp.
