a. Note:   Francis Marion Clifton Jolly (1866-1946) was a teacher, having taught school 32 terms. He later surrendered to preach and at first was a Presbyterian minister. In preaching his convictions, he preached what he believed the Bible taught. The congregation told him he was preaching Baptist doctrine and he had better change over to that denomination. He did, and preached in Baptist Churches for over twenty-five years. He held pastorates in every church in the Blackford Baptist Association in western KY except two. Minnie, his wife and he are buried at the Blackford Baptist Church Cemetery, Hancock Co. KY.
