Frederick was awarded the following medals for service in W WII:-
1939-45 Star Atlantic Star
Africa Star Africa Clasp
Pacific Star Italy Star
War Medal 1939-45
However he did not claim the medals. They we claim after hi s death by his son Barry.

In the War years, they didn't have details of their trips n oted in the MN Book, for security reasons.....so I did no t know where he had been. A friend who was in the MN, Terr y Govier (Now there's a name to reasearch...I think it's Po rtugese) said he would help. On one document he said my Da d was his uncle?........thought they would help him better? ?? (Incidently, I found out through research (we never kne w a school?) that Terry is related to me (Mums side) his G/ grandmother was mine's sister! Small world Eh?
I found details of his trips to Halifax, Canada......one o f his ships had to turn back, with broken stearing gear?
