Note:   t Church: (Donated by Evelyn Garrett, Carleton's widow) "Carleton Garrett...was born in this community, on the farm where both his grandparents and parents farmed, and where today his brother now lives. Many...remember Carleton coming to Sunday school here. He joined the Apulia Church in 1924. After graduation from Syracuse University Mr. Garrett went for his first job with the TVA in Chattanooga TN. Later he served as Division Engineer in Harrisburg PA and in Albany NY. At the time of his death he held this position for the state of Massachusetts. He was active in the Methodist Church in each place.

Engineer, Bureau of Public Roads, U.S.Dept. of Transportation died suddenly at his home in Needham Mass on Aug 7 [1969] He was 58. Mr. Garrett was a native of the town of Fabius, son of Jesse and Berdenna French Garrett. He was a graduate of Tully Central school and the College of Engineering of Syracuse University. He was empl. by the federal gov. at the TVA site in Chattanooga, Tenn. from 1934 5o 19142 and had subsequently been Div. Engineer in Harrisburg, PA, Albany NY and had been Mass. for the past three years. ...Was a mem. of the American Soc. of Civil Engineers, West Shore Masonic Lodge, Harrisburg PA and attended Needham [MA] United Methodist Church. Is surv. by wife Evelyn L. Virgil Garrett; two sons Carleton T., Jr. Madison Wis., and Wm. E. Garrett, Syracuse; one grandchild; one brother B. Arlington Garrett, Apulia Station and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was held at Eaton Funeral Home, Needham on Friday evening, Aug 8 and funeral services were in the Hall Funeral Home, LaFayette [Onondaga,NY] on Mon. Aug 11 Rev. Clytus Mowry off. and burial was in Tully cem. ...honorary bearers were directors of the Mass., NY, VT, and PA offices of highway adm. and their staff... nd Syracuse paper? irg
