  Waller's actual birthdate is in question. His death certificate gives a birth year of 1828. In census records we see a pattern of ages assigned to Waller Willhite. In 1850, 1860, and 1870, his ages were 15, 25, and 35 respectively, giving him an approximate birth year of 1835. Then in 1880 his age jumps to 48 followed by ages of 66 in 1900, 79 in 1910, 89 in 1920, and finally 96 in 1925 at his death. It seems likely that the three earliest records are more likely to be accurate, so we will suggest an actual birth year of 1835 for him.
