Note: s was to shovel coal into the furnace early in the morning so the house would be warm when the family got up. She graduated for high school in 1937 and worked in a shoe factory (with Wanda Crowell) and did housework (Mai Hausmann?). On May 31, 1943 she joined the WAVES (S1 US Navy World War II) and took her training at Hunter College in Bronx, New York. She was discharged on Novevember 24, 1945. James joined or was drafted in 1941. She was hit by Dale Sidwell (never officially charged with drunk driving) on a Friday evening around 8:30 PM. (Nina, James, and David had returned from evening VBS at the Parkview Free Methodist and saw the ambulance go around the corner and head up 8th street. They later learned that the ambulance contained Nina's mom.)
Note: Gladys lived with a family in Brownstown and went to Brownstown High School. One of her job
