Note:   HENRY OBREE (O'BREE) was born on November 14th 1827 in Hackney,in the East end of London, England to Phineas & Susannah O'BREEand christened on the 4th December at nearby Saint Leonard'sChurch of England, Shoreditch. His father was a weaver by trade.A sister Mary Ann is recorded but apparently he also had onebrother William, who migrated to America and another sister,Cilia.Henry is reputed to have gone to sea at the age of twelve (12)years. He also fought in the Crimean War (1854 - 56).Documentation proves that he received a Certificate ofCompetency as a Second Mate in 1856 and that he was dischargedafter his last voyage on 25th January 1858 with a "Good"character reference. Apparently, he made various voyages toAustralia as a seaman. On his discharge from the MerchantService, Henry married Frances Pierpoint from a family of goodstanding in Liverpool, England. Her sister, Aunt LizziePierpoint kept "The Clock Inn" in London Road, Liverpool, andlater married a lawyer, David Keith.(Some of the above information is yet to be confirmed)Updated:29 March 2002
