Note: In an aricle in the "Records of Moravians in NC" Vol XII, taken from the Diary of Friedberg Moravian Church, a Committee Meeting of Friedberg, dated Feb 17, 1866, reported that some "unfavorable reports concerning Br. Jesse Knauss and Widow Bruer have been circulated." Since this entry in the diary was dated 1866, Paulina's husband, Kelian, died prior to Feb, 1866. Paulina's last son, John Ellis was born 1868 and could not be the son of Kelian. He could possibly be the son of Jesse Knauss or somone else. The parents of Paulina Boyer, wife of Kelian Brewer, remains a mystery. From everything I have been able to find, it appears most likely that she is connected to Elizabeth Boyer, born 1805, daughter of John Boyer and Olive "Molly" Watkins. On January 22, 1840, Elizabeth Boyer married Heinrich Beroth (his 2nd wife). She is listed on the 1850 Census of Forsyth County, NC as head of household with the following children: Paulina Boyer 19 Nancy L. Boyer 15 Reyford T. Boyer 12 Henry T. Boyer 9 These children were born before Elizabeth and Heinrich Beroth were married. The Beroth Family Page (Faye Moran's Related Families) lists 2 children born to Elizabeth Boyer & Heinrich Beroth. They are: Mariah Beroth, born abt. 1845 Henry F. Beroth, born abt. 1849. The date of birth for Henry F.Beroth would not be accurate if he is the son of Heinrich, as Heinrich Beroth died in 1847. Henry T. Boyer and Henry F. Beroth are probably the same person. Further evidence of the possibility of Paulina Boyer being the daughter of Elizabeth Boyer Beroth is found in a letter Paulina Boyer Brewer wrote her son, Josiah Brewer, in 1884 in which she states that Josiah's Aunt Mariah was living with Sandy (Alexander) Brewer, Josiah's brother. It is believed that the "Aunt Mariah" that Paulina refers to is Mariah Beroth, daughter of Heinrich and Elizabeth Boyer Beroth. If Paulina is the daughter of Elizabeth Boyer, she would be a half sister of Mariah Beroth.
