He was in his 75th year and father of Arthur Rupe, Kyger merchant and Raymond Rupe of this city. Mr Rupe had been ailing somewhat but had worked in his garden last evening and his death came as a shocking surprise to relatives and friends. Youngest of family He was born and reared about half a mile from where he died and his whole life had been spent in that immediate neighborhood. He was an industrous, honest, home-loving man who had many friends and probably no enemies. He was the youngest son of the late Washington and Elizabeth Rothgeb Rupe and was born January 10, 1864. About 46 years ago he married Miss Mary Might, a daughter of the late Jonas Might. She and two children, in addition to the two named, survive: Marion and Leo, both at home. Also surviving is one brother, William, who lives on the site of the old Rupe homestead, and who has long been in poor health. Mrs H Bion Bradbury, of this city is a niece of the decedent. Her father, D Perry Rupe, died two years ago last Thursday. Since then another and older brother, Jacob, died at his home near Cheshire. Francis S Rupe was a charter member of the Kyger counsil, Jr. O. U. A. M. Funeral services will be held at the Kyger M E church at 2 o�clock Saturday, in charge of Rev. Harvey Bolton of Rutland. Burial will be made at Poplar Ridge by J L Coleman. (Died June 23, 1938)
