She was a State Reagent of Daughters of the American Revolution and dedicated the DAR memorial at the Cathedral Pines, Eustis, Me. She was a past president of the Women's Republican Club, of the Auxillary Unit of Thaddeus Roderick Post, A. She was also president of the Farmington Chapter of the Women's Christian Temperance Union and was an adamant prohibitionist (although her husband was known to have a drink now and then). She ran her home (the old Belcher homestead) as a boarding house to make ends meet after her husband had died and the family fortune in stocks had been lost.
