Note: Columbus Dispatch March 9, 1932 Page 2A De Francisco--Ferdinando (Fred), aged 61, for many years a carman for the Pennsylvania railroad, died Tuesday, at his home, 1076 Leonard place, after an illness of two years. Funeral services will be held, Friday, at 9:30 a.m. at St John the Baptist Church, with burial in Calvary cemetery by John Quint. Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Margaret DeFrancisco; four sons, Joseph, Albert, Nicholas and Edwin De Francisco; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Ventresca, Mrs. Carmel Finelli, Mrs. Anna Del Greco, Mrs. Agnes Pomante and Miss Alvida De Francisco, also seven grandchildren. Mr De Francisco was a member of the Pennsylvania Voluntary Relief association, Pennsylvania Veterans' Relief association, Humbert Camp No. 140, Woodmen of the World: Franklin Court, Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Nicholas Society and Holy Name Sodality of St John the Baptist church. From the Naturalization file of Fred DeFrancesco at the Ohio Historical Society: Fred DeFrancesco, being first duly sworn says that he is the Fred DeFrancesco who made a Declaration of his Intention to become a citizen of the United States before Probate Judge of Franklin County, Ohio on the 28th day of March, A.D. 1895; that at that time he made his said declaration of intention, he, and his brother, were before that Probate Court of said County, together; that he was not at that time and is not now entirely familiar with the English language and that his brother had less knowledge of the language than he has; that he is now informed by the Probate Court that he stated at the time of his declaration of his intention, and that the record shows, that he arrived on the __ day of March 1894. Affiant sayas that he did not correctly understand what was asked of him at that time, and that if the record shows that he declared at that time that he arrived on the __ day of March 1894, that said statement was erroneous and was made by him under a mistake. Affiant further says that he and his brother left the kingdom of Italy and came to the United States of America, with the intention of making it their permanent home, in the year 1890, and arrived in the City of New York, State of New York, in the month of September, 1890. That upon his arrival in the City of New York, he notified his cousin, Peter Albanese, in the City of Columbus, Ohio of the arrival of himself and brother in said City of New York; that he remained in the City of New York for a period of about two years, and on the 10th day of March 1893, came to the City of Columbus, Ohio, where he has since resided; that during all of the time since he came to the City of Columbus, Ohio, he has been employed at the Pan Handle Shope (sic) and is now employed at the same place, and further affiant...(document ends here)
