Title: John Lindegard Obituary
Text: John Lindegard Died Suddenly John H. Lindegard, well known Monmouth garageman, died suddenly at 8:40 p.m. last evening at his home, 900 South B street. The death of Mr. Lindegard comes as a severe shock to his family and friends as he had been in fairly good health and worked as usual yesterday at his shop at 119 South Second Street. Death followed a heart attack. John Helmer Lindegard was the son of John and Matilda (Fiander) Frederick and was born in Stalldalin, Sweden, March 18, 1883. Before coming to the United States at the age of 19, he served for two years in the Swedish navy. He had resided in Monmouth for thirty-nine years and was a member of the First Lutheran church and the Elks. He served his church in the capacity of trustee at one time. Surviving are the widow, Amanda Williamson Lindegard, whom he married on April 29, 1909, one daughter, Mrs. Alyce Pearson of Oquawka, and two sons, Pvt. John Howard Lindegard, who entered the armed services only a few days ago, and is stationed at Fort Dodge, Ia., and Robert at home. Mr. Lindegard also leaves three brothers; Charles Lindegard, Ravenna, Ohio, Ernest Peterson and Carl Peterson in Sweden. There are also two grandsons and one graddaughter. He was preceded in death on February 13, 1913, by twin children, John Herbert and Amanda Helen, born February 7, 1913, and two brothers in Sweden. Funeral arrangements being made at the Turnbull Funeral Home are pending the arrival of the son in service and the brother from Ohio.
