Note: August 27, 1916 -- I and Claude went to Rev. J.A. Bryans Church a most unusal experience, could see Angels flying around in the church.
August 17, 1916-- Jessie's 50th birthday.
October 3, 1916-- 24 yrs ago went to Ashland, Alabama to marry Annie Downing.
October 12, 1916-- 24 yrs since I first married.
October 15, 1916-- Brother Charles died at 1 am from hemorrage from the lungs, buried at 4pm.
June 28, 1917-- Marion 22 yrs old
August 5, 1917-- 16 yrs since Annie died.
November 28, 1917-- left Abbeville in evening for Cragford, Alabama to visit sister-in-law, Mrs. Worthy.
December 2, 1917-- Maude Worthy and I went to old Corinth Church where Annie used to go, called on me for a word, Text: THE AXE IS OFF THE HANDLE.
March 3, 1918-- Jane was 7 yrs old.
August 21, 1919-- Went to Pratt City, Fairfield, Doyle, East Lake, Ensley, Bessemer, and North Birmingham, Ala.
October 12, 1919-- 27 yrs since my 1st marriage.
March 27, 1920-- 18 yrs since Jessie and I married.
May 9, 1920-- My 50th anniversary
July 24, 1901-- W. Walters Pratt died.
June 18, 1919-- 1 yr ago Burts brought my new Ford from Birmingham.
June 28, 1919-- Claude married Mary Willie Anderson of Birmingham, Ala. at 2:30 PM our time.
August 5, 1918-- 17 yrs since the boys mother died.
October 12, 1918--26 yrs since I married.
October 14, 1918-- I went ro Due West to meet Burts being discharged from the army.
October 21, 1918-- Sent for Dr. Pressleyu for Burts, has pnemonia
July 1880-- Joined Little River Baptist Church.
October 3, 1916--24 yrs ago went to Ashlaand, Ala. to marry Annie Downing.
October 3, 1927-- 35 yrs since I started to Ashland, Ala. to marry
June 26, 1927--Marion's 32 Birthday.
October 29, 1926-- Claude 33 yrs old.
August 5, 1927-- 26 yrs ago Annie was buried.
September 17, 1927-- Virginia started to kindergarten.
January 9, 1928-- 52 yrs since my mother died.
December 20, 1927-- 14 yrs since Pa died.
August 5, 1928-- Annie buried 27 yrs ago.
February 5, 1928-- Rosa Lee's birthday.
February 3, 1928-- Aunt Mattie Mann buried today at Shiloh
May 9, 1929-- My 59th birthday.
March 25, 1928-- Cousin Robert Newton Pratt died at 8 pm 73 yrs old.
April 5, 1928-- Burts 31 myrs old.
May 9, 1930-- My 60th birthday.July 20, 1928-- Eva Pratt Married Rudolph Bozard.
September 17, 1930-- Jesse's birthday.
October 3, 1930-- 38 yrs since I started to Ashland, Ala. to marry.
July 25, 1928-- 27 yrs since Walters died. 36 yrs ago I started to visit Ala, Annie Downing.
October 3, 1928-- 36 yrs ago started to Ashland, Ala. to marry Annie Downing.

April 18, 1930-- Cecil's 31st Birthday.
April 18, 1929-- Cecil's 30 birthday.
May 9, 1931-- My 61st Birthday.
August 4, 1901-- Annie Downing died.
August 4, 1931-- 30 yrs since Annie died.
December 15, 1935 resigned as assistant church clerk.
December 13, 1935-- Luke Ashley accused him of changing the church minutes.
December 14, 1935-- Luke Ashley stopped him in the road.
September 17, 1931-- Jesse's 65th bithday.
October 3, 1931-- 39 yrs since I started to Ashland, Ala. to marry Annie Downing.
December 27, 1935-- Received a note of thanks from Gov. Johnson for Citizens of Level Land signing a paper endorsing his action in ousting the Highway Commissioner. 73 Signed.
October 12, 1931-- 39 yrs since I married
October 13, 1931-- 39 yrs ago Annie and I went from Ashland to Goodwater and spent the night with Aunt Susie Gosdin.
December 20, 1931-- 17 yrs since pa died.
January 3, 1932-- 40 yrs since Minnie Bell married E.E. Henderson.
May 9, 1932-- My 62nd Bithday.
April 5, 1935-- Burts 38 yrs old.
April 18, 1935, Cecil 36 yrs old. May 5, 1935-- My 66th Anniversary.
May 11, 1935 Jesse very poor.
September 17, 1936-- Jessie was 70 yrs old.
March 27, 1933-- Jess 59 yrs old.
April 9, 1933-- Ciusin Jane Pratt Cox Acken buried.
October 12, 1936-- 44 yrs since I married.
July 25, 1933-- 32 yrs since Walters buried.
December 20, 1936-- 23 yrs since pa died.
January 9, 1933-- 58 yrs ago since my mother went to Heaven. January 9, 1876
January 2, 1937-- 45 yrs since Minnie Bell married here.
March 13, 1942-- Jessie took worse after noon, poor thing passed out, at 3:45 liking two weeks of being 40 yrs since we married. Good night Jessie, I will meet you in the morning.
March 15, 1942-- At 11:30 am we took Jessie to lay her away. Bro. Hall And Dr. Pressley conducted the service. The boys, W.N. Ellis and C.E. Burton active pallbearers. William Ellis, Henry Loner, J.C. clinkscales, Ralph Ware, O.B. Ellis. We thank everyone who did even the least. Good Night Jessie.
