This caused him to have one leg shorter than the other the rest of his life. He walked with a built-up shoe and a cane. The 1920 Census for Bay County, Hampton Twp, Michigan lists Albert and his wife Elfleda and their children Richard (age 1) and Elsie (5 months). The Seaman family then moved to the Beaverton area living in Elfleda's parent's home. "While living on Bard Road (now called Coleman Road) Mr. & Mrs. Jarvis Mott lived across the road from us. They were older than Mom and Dad. They were the first Christians to witness to Mom and Dad and invite them to church as far as I remember. Dad's folks were Lutheran so he probably knew what Christianity was. He was the first to accept Christ as his Savior and Mom followed his example." by Erma (Seaman) Rydman.
