a. Note:   General James Patton Anderson served the Confederacy in numerous capacities
 during the civil war. His autobiography was written from his papers by 'Etta' his wife (Henrietta Buford Adair) His funeral was held at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The pallbearers were all fellow Confederate Generals. Nathan B Forrest, W Y C Humes, M.J. Wright, William Browne, G W Gordon
 G J Pillow, C W Adams and J. C. Fizer. James Patton's old war horse was in the lead in the cortege which moved down Main to Beale and on out to Elmwood
 cemetery.
  James Patton served as Tax Collector for the City of Memphis TN.
  James Patton married his cousin.
