Note: [Pagel] From the Funeral Service bulletin: Pallbearers: Marvin Granzow, Stan Granzow, David Wehrman, Paul Wehrman, Bill Ruhnke, Gail Hackney Lillie Elizabeth Margaret Ruhnke was born December14, 1886 in Hardin County. She was the daughter of Berthold and Bertha Oldenberg Pagel. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed March 31, 1907 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Hubbard. She received her education in Hardin County and worked for area families until her marriage to Paul Ruhnke. They farmed near Hubbard and Eldora until Paul's death in 1956. She retired to Eldora where she lived in her own home and then her daughter's home until entering the Eldora Manor shortly before her 100th birthday. Lillie entered her eternal rest on Sunday, May 13, 1990 at Eldora Manor Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 5 children: Agnes Wehrman, Herbert, Freddie, Clara and Harold Ruhnke; 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 1 great-great grandchild; 3 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Gladys Granzow, her son-in-laws, George Granzow and Harold Wehrman, all of Eldora, 12 grand-children, 30 great grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren, her sisters: Martha Fredericks of West Concord, Minnesota, Anna Henning of Eldora, her brother Emil Pagel of Webster City and numerous nieces and nephews.
