  Milton Andrew Bishop served in the Union forces during the Civil War from September 4, 1862 and was discharged July 20, 1865. He served in the Missouri/Arkansas area during the war and suffered illnesses that were a common problem for many soldiers. He received a pension for his service and entered the Western Branch, National Home for D. V. S. on the 30th day of January 1913.
  He is buried in Leavenworth National Cemetery; Section 24, Row 7, Grave #26.
