Note: Worked at Delco Remy in Anderson for 22 1/2 years to support three children alone. Had to take disability for heart problems. Went to Houston Texas in 1969 to have one of the first heart by-pass operations preformed by Dr. Michael DeBakey, leading heart surgeon. Began spending winters in Phoeniz, Arizona to be in warm climate and near family. Sister Lovie and her children lived there, and other sibs wintered there as well. Became ill in 1993 before returning in the spring. Sister-in-law was a nurse and flew out to make the return flight back to Indiana with Grandma. She was taken right to the Tipton Hospital for a few days, then released and returned to Anderson. She again was in the hosptal in Anderson, and died of a massive heart attack with mother at her bedside. Code Blue was immediatly called, but she could not be revived. This happened about 1 week after returning from Arizona.
