a. Note:   Laura Ellen"Ellie" had a surry with yellow fringe that she drove, with a matching pair of Black horses. She had a black driving outfit with a large black hat with a yellow plume, she cut a dashing picture and she knew it. She would buy many bolts of cloth and then invite a lot of the ladies to come and help her sew for her children, then she would give them left over cloth for their children. My grandmother Daisy said she always hated it because all the other girls in the community has dresses just like hers. She loved to hunt and was a fine shot. She also like all of her siblings except the one that played the fiddle.
