Conveyed to Watson 5 May 1842. Also following slaves, male boy Green, Girl Nancy, Boy Frank, Girl Narsis, Boy Little Ben. 1 red wagon, 2 yoke oxen, 1 gray horse, 1 Rone mare, 1 mule, blind, 12 breeding sows, 40 stock hogs, 15 or 20 yearlings or calves to be held in trust for Rebecca Watson, wife of Odera Watson. I am putting this marriage here as Odera lived next to a John Watson Jr. in Newton Co., GA Watson, John Spouse : Coon, Mary Marriage date : Jan 16, 1828 in Walton Co., GA Paris WATSON Spouse Nancy Brewer , Marriage: 9 Aug 1829 , Walton, Georgia There is a John Watson in the 1820 census of Walton Co., GA, who could be Odera's father. pg 230 or 490 Walton Co., GA (page depends on which census index you use). John Watson 021201-01001, apparently he is still there in 1824, on a census or tax list. Petition of Michael Boren and 110 others, Memorial #239, File #63, Letter M, Texas State Archives, "Oldera" Watson signed a petition in Republic of Texas, requesting the county seat be placed in Caldwell and court proceedings in both Caldwell and Nashville be declared legal. Farnash, and E.B. Reed. The Land Odera purchased from Thomas Watson may have been won in a lottery. The lottery lots were 202 1/2 acres and that was what he bought.
