 "The Shelby Democrat," (Shelbyville, Shelby Co., IN) April 5, 1900 (page 2) "Mr. St. Clair Ensminger received the sad news of the death of his sister, Mrs. Chloe Kannell (sic), which occurred April 1st, 1900, at Beecher City, Illinois, at her late home. She was seventy-nine (sic--seventy-one) years of age, and leaves five children, one son and four daughters to mourn her departure. Three brothers and one sister, of this (Shelby County), she having spent the earlier part of her life, it being her native home."
