  Obituary #2
"The Shelby Democrat," (Shelbyville, Shelby Co., IN) August 16, 1883 (page 3) OBITUARY "Died, on the 12th day of August, 1883, in the thirtieth year of her age, Lizzie Rucker, of Liberty township. Lizzie Rucker was born October 20th 1853. When nearly seven years of age she was stricken with inflammatory rheumatism which paralyzed her hands, leaving her a cripple for life. In this sad condition, at the age of fifteen, she was deprived by death of the love and care of her mother. Eleven years ago she became a member of the M.E. church. When, after every means was employed for her restoration without avail, the hopeless reality of her condition was met and born with the patience and fortitude which characterized her life. Possessed of a superior intellect, a sweet disposition and pleasant address, she endeared herself to those with whom she came in contact. She leaves many warm and true friends who sincerely mourn her loss."
