 "The Altamont News," (Altamont, Effingham Co., IL) December 6, 1906 (page 4) "Mrs. Martha Arnold died at her home Friday night, November 30, of consumption after an illness of several months. She had lived a consistent Christian life for twenty-five years. A good and pure life has gone to its reward. The remains were laid to rest in the Southern Methodist Cemetery at 12 o'clock Sunday."
