MARKLAND FUNERAL SUNDAY FOR FAIRLAND WOMAN, 87 "Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Lizzie Markland, 87, of Fairland, who died at the Emily E. Flynn Home at Marion at 11:45 a.m. Thursday. She had suffered a heart attack a few days before Christmas." "Mrs. Markland had been a resident of the Fairland Community for 65 years and entered the Flynn Home last September. She was a member of the Fairland Christian Church and Order of the Eastern Star." "Funeral services will be held at the Ewing Mortuary at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Roland Yarling will officiate and burial will be in the Fairland cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday." Mrs. Markland was born near Waldron on Sept. 15, 1876, the daughter of John and Roxey (Ensminger) Wilson. She was married to Elbert S. Markland on Sept. 17, 1896, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1932. No immediate relatives survive."
