 "The Shelbyville Republican," (Shelbyville, Shelby Co., IN) November 10, 1915 (page 2) BALLARD ENSMINGER DEAD
 Funeral Saturday Morning at Home in VanBuren Township
  "Ballard Ensminger, son of the late St. Clair Ensminger, died at his home in Carrollton, in VanBuren township, at eleven o'clock Tuesday night, at the age of fifty-one years, five months, and one day. He is survived by his wife, one adopted son, Leonard, and one twin brother, Brown Ensminger, of this county. Mr. Ensminger was a member of the Red Men in Elwood. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at ten o'clock at the late home, Rev. J. J. Sumner, of Carrollton, will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery at Shelbyville."

  BALLARD ENSMINGER ANSWERED FINAL CALL
 Passed Away At His Home In Van Buren Township At 11 O'clock Last Night
  "Ballard Ensminger, fifty-one years, five months and nine days old, one of the highly esteemed residents of Van Buren township, died at his home, one mile south of Carrollton, last night at 11 o'clock, from paralysis. His condition had been critical for some time and the end did not come unexpectedly to his relatives and many friends."
  "Deceased was the son of the late St. Clair Ensminger, of this city, who died about a year ago. Mr. Ensminger was a good, christian man and was always found willing to lend a helping hand in any movement that was for the betterment of the community in which he resided. He was a member of the Red Men tribe at Elwood."
  Besides his wife, deceased leaves an adopted son, Leon, at home. They will have the heatfelt sympathy of the county in their sorrow."
  "The funeral services will be held at the Carrollton M. P. church, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, the Ref. J. G. Smith officiating. The burial will be made in Forest Hill cemetery in charge of Herlich & Son, of New Palastine."
  LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF BALLARD ENSMINGER
  I, Ballard Ensminger, of the City of Elwood, County of Madison and State of Indiana, do make and publish, this my last will and testament, to wit:
  Item 1. I give, devise, and bequeath to my beloved wife, Margaret E. Ensminger, absolutely and in fee simple, should she survive me, all the property, real, personal, and mixed, which I may die owning, or in which I may have or possess any right, title, or interest, at the time of my death.
  Item 2. I hereby revoke any and all former wills by me made. Item 3. I hereby constitute and appoint said Margaret E. Ensminger, executrix, of this my last will and testament, without bond.
  In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal this 29th day of January 1915.
  Ballard Ensminger ( seal ) Signed, sealed, and acknowledged by said Ballard Ensminger, as and for his last will and testament, in our presence, and signed by us, at his request, in his presence, and in the presents (sic) of each other, at the City of Elwood, Indiana, this 29th day of January 1915.

  Be it remembered, That on the 23rd day of November, 1915, Richard F. Broadbent, one of the subscribing witnesses to the within and foregoing last Will and testament of Ballard Ensminger late of said County, deceased, personally appeared before Cecil B. Collins, Clk, of the Circuit Court of Shelby County, in the State of Indiana, and being duly sworn by the Clerk of said Court, upon his oath, declared and testified as follows, that is to say: That on the 29th day of January, 1915, he saw the said Ballard Ensminger sign his name to the said instrument in writing as and for his last Will and testament; and that this deponent, at the same time, heard the said Ballard Ensminger declare the said instrument in writing to be his last Will and Testament , and that the said instrument in writing, was at the same time, at the request of said Ballard Ensminger and with his consent attested and subscribed by the said Richard F. Broadbent and Henry Ferguson in the presence of said testator, and in the presence of each other, as subscribing witnesses thereto, and that the said Ballard Ensminger was, at the time of the signing of said instrument in writing, as aforesaid, of full age (that is more than twenty-one years of age), and of sound and disposing mind and memory, and not under any coercion or restraint, as the said deponent verily believes, and further deponent says not.
  Richard F. Broadbent Sworn to and subscribed by the said Richard F. Broadbent before, Cecil B. Collins Clerk of said Court, at Shelbyville, Indiana, the 23rd day of November 1915.

Collins Clerk of the Circuit Court of Shelby County, Indiana, do hereby certify that the within annexed Will and Testament of Ballard Ensminger has been duly admitted to probate, and duly proved by the testimony of Richard F. Broadbent one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, that a complete record of said Will, and of the testimony subscribing witnesses thereto, that a complete record of said Will, and of the testimony of the said Richard F. Broadbent in proof thereof, has been by me duly made and recorded in book 7 at pages 78 and 79 of the record of Wills of said County.
  IN ATTESTATION WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name, and affixed the seal of said Court, at Shelbyville, Indiana, this 23rd day of November 1915.
