a. Note:   The General History of Weymouth reports "The meeting of the Selectmen (of Weymouth) 14 December 1663, the number of acres in each persons
 lotts in the 2nd Division beginninge on Brauntry lyne. Richard
 Phillips drew 16 acres".

 Richard's Will: "being sick and week of body" made his will 27 October
 1695 and was proven 19 December 1698. To his wife Elizabeth according
 to a contract made before marriage 10p and pewter marked R & P. To
 his grandson Caleb phillips a ewe. To his wifes daughter, Susanna
 Kingman, another ewe. To his eldest son Caleb Phillips, if he be
 living or if not, to his widow Elizabeth Phillips, now dwelling in
 Roxbury, a double portion. To his three sons and two daughters viz
 Nicholas Phillips, Samuel Phillips, John Phillips, his daughter Mary
 Humphrey and his daughter-in-law Amy Phillips the remainder. "The
 andirons which my father Packer gave to me I give to my son John
 Phillips". Sons Nicholas, Samuel and John to have my wearing apparell
 and be executors. Witness John Blanchard, Nathaniel Ford and William
 Chard.
 Inventory of the estate of Ensign Richard Phillips taken by Joseph
 Green, James Richards and Nataniel Ford 22 November 1695; mention the
 following piece "musket and sword"; total 242p 11s.

b. Note:   Since both the Packard and Phillips families were living in Weymouth, it seems more likely the marriage took place there, than in Boston.
