Notes
a. Note:   Her father, Samuel Packard, sailed on the 'Diligent' from Ipswich in June 1638 with his wife Elizabeth & child, and it is assumed that Mary
was that child. In his 1684 will, Samuel Packard lists "Mary Phillips
the wife of Richard Phillips" first of his 5 surviving daughters, to
share what money and chattels shall be left after the death of their
 mother.
b. Note:   .....The Packard & Allied Families genealogy say Mary died 7 Jun 1697 in Weymouth, but that seems unlikely. Her husband, Richard Phillips
made his will (27 or) 17 Oct 1695, in which he mentioned his 2nd wife,
Elizabeth and her daughter, Susanna Kingman. The inventory was taken
22 Nov 1695, and the will proven 19 Dec 1695. Source: Suffolk Probate
 13:705, 706.
Mary Packard Phillips was certainly living at the time of her father's
will in 1684, so perhaps 1697 was a typo, and she died in 1687.
c. Note:   Since both the Packard and Phillips families were living in Weymouth, it seems more likely the marriage took place there, than in Boston.
