  In the name of god Amen the xxviijth of Maye in the four and fourtiethe yeare of the Ragne of our Soveragne Ladye Elizabeth etc et An dmi 1602
  I Christopher Palliser of CALDBERGHE in COVERDAILE within the countye of YORKE yeoman beinge by Reason of age and Sickness feeble in bodye but yet of good and perfecte remembrance i give therefore my most humble thankes unto Almightie god my maker and unto Jesus Christ his ownlie Sonne my Redeemer whoe is my onely hope and Salvacion doe Constitute ordayne and mke this my last will & testament of my lands, trusts, goods and cattelles in manner and forme followinge
  First I give and bequeath my Soule unto Almightie god and unto Jesus Christ his Sonne throughe whose death & passion I give my Soule to be saved and my Bodye to be buryed in the Churchyeard of COVERHAM
  Item I give unto my Sonne Francis Palliser one brasse pott and one kettle and one tonge chest
 Item I give all the rest of my household stuff unto my doughter Sicelye
 and I give unto my said sonne Francis my meare and my saddle and brydle sworde and dagger and my carte and such implements as doe thereunto appertaine and also one whithorned stott
