Stomach Cancer
Resided at Williamstown for 34 years. Worked as a hired handfor local Farmers most of his life. Told of hunting coons with
just a lantern to shine their eyes and no dog. Seemed to beproud of not needing a dog. Also described how his son-in-lawAndy could catch rabbits with his bare hands. Said he (Andy)
moved like a Indian in the woods. Perry couldn't read but in
the evenings his wife Flora would read by the light of an
"Alladin" kerosene lamp, stories of cowboys and Indians,
gunfights and range wars from "Dime Westerns", pulp paper
magazines of the time. It was one of his favorite forms of
entertainment.
