Note: N1932 [Samuel, son of James & Elizabeth PARKS was born or baptized 16 July 1818 in Kilmore Parish Register. Is that this Samuel?] Samuel was a bachelor, age 24, weaver, residing in Ballygrubany at the time of his marriage in 1845. Marriage witnesses were William PARKS, & Thomas PARKS. He moved from Ballygrubeny Townland to Ballyloughan Townland between 1856 when son Thomas was baptised and 1862 when daughter Anna Bella was baptised. In Griffith’s Valuation he resided in Ballyloughan Townland, #39, renting from Maria Martin a house and 4 acres, worth 4 pounds, 15 shillings. He leased his land from the Earl of Gosford. He explained he was unable to pay his rent in 1883 as he had “lost a cow in June 1882.” His tenancy passed to Thomas Parks. Also in the household in 1901 are Thomas Parks 40, son-in-law; Elizabeth Parks 40, daughter-in-law; and Saml David, 19; James Wm. 12; Elizabeth 9; John T. 7; and George 3 who may be the children of Thomas Parks. They are too young to be the children of Samuel 80 and his wife Mary Jane 74.
