 Will Gentry and Jesse Muse left last week for Illinois to shuck corn. Illinois farmers are said to be paying some fancy prices for shuckers and we hope the boys will come with their pockets bulging with the "long green."

 Jesse and Maude moved to Ivanho, Tulare County, California in the year 1936 from Marshfield, Webster County, Missouri shortly after the death of his mother. Moving from there to the east county area of San Diego County, California in 1937.

  Last Rites For Jesse Harrison Muse
 Jesse Harrison Muse, 53, of Bostonia, died October 1. He was born in Marshfield, Missouri, January 10,1889, the son of Jesse W. and Mary C. Muse. He was a member of the La Mesa IOOF. He joined the organization in Marshfield in 1910. Mr. Muse is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude O. Muse; son Jesse B. Muse; and three grandchildren, James, Jackie and Philip, all of Bostonia; also three brothers, Erman O. of Ivanhoe, Robert G. of Marshfield, and Charlie of Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Detherow and Mrs. Lena Cleir, both of Marshfield. Services were held Monday at the Erickson-Anderson chapel in La Mesa, the Rev. W. J. Osborn of the El Cajon First Baptist church officiated. Interment was in Greenwood. Pallbearers were William Wilcox, John Hudson, Mr. Benton and Mr. Franken, all of Santee; Ed Isenberger of National City and Mr. Metz of El Cajon.

 Looking Back
 July 19,1928 - 75 years ago
  A still was found on the Clark Davis place, about six miles east of Marshfield, Tuesday by Constable Jess Muse and Sid Robinson.
 A barrel of mash and a pint of liguor was found with the outfit. No arrests were made.
