Note: {In 1882, John's father, Thomas, died. John's oldest son, Thomas (named for his grandfather), was left the house and three acres where his grandparents had lived, upon the death of Thomas' second wife. This Thomas (Uncle Tommy) left journals recounting the move of the O'Brien family from Illinois to Nebraska. John went first and bought a farm In Glenville (Clay Cty). Upon his return to Illinois, the O'Briens held a farm sale and then on 17 Feb 1885, John and Thomas left for Fairfield, Nebraska, where they bought a horse and wagon and furniture they moved to the farm. The rest of the family joined John and Thomas shortly thereafter. Pete was the only one of the seven children to have children.}
