a. Note:   t I solemnized the marriage of: WILLIAM DAVENPORT PATTERSON and SARAH JANE WHYTE of Stratford Ontario on the 30th day of Aug 1919 in the presence of JOHN WHYTE & SARAH JANE WHYTE of Stratford. Name - ROBERT MARTIN D.O. of Stratford. Denomination - Presbyterian.
 (2.) Mr.and Mrs. John Whyte announce the marriage of their daughter Jean to Mr William Davenport Patterson on Saturday August the thirtieth nineteen hundred and nineteen Stratford Ontario.

  !OBIT: 4/4/81 - Worc Gazette >> HOLDEN William D Patterson 90 of 46 Longmeadow Road died today at home after a long illness. Mr. Patterson retired in 1957 as a real estate broker. He had been a sales representative for Chevrolet and a buyer for Women's wear throughtout New England. He leaves his wife Eleanor C (Cooper) Patterson two sons John W Patterson of Holden and Douglas W Patterson of Weston Ontario seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His first wife Sarah Jane (Whyte) Patterson died in 1945. He was born in Prince Albert Ontario a son of William G and Charlotte (Eddy) Patterson. He lived in Worcester 20 years before moving to Holden in 1955. Mr Patterson was a World War 1 Army veteran and served as a senior officer in the ambulance service hospital train in Paris France. He was a member of Worcester Section, Green Mountain Club. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Morrison Funeral Home 1131 Main St Leicester. The Rev Thomas Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in Rural Crematory Worcester. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service. The family requests flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made to the palliative care unit of the University of Massachusetts Hospital 53 North Lake Ave Worcester or to the Visiting Nurse Association 50 Elm St Worcester.   !Comments: ECP wrote her husband's obituary for the paper. Who knows why it was deemed necessary to make changes: (1.) Longmeadow Road is Longmeadow Ave. (2.) He was not buried in Rural Crematory. He was cremated there with ashes to be distributed at some later time.
  !ASHES: Just prior to Memorial Day (25 May 1983) Wm D Patterson's ashes were strewn in the ground next to the James A Cooper family gravestone (lot #133) at Greenvile Cemetery in Greenville Leicester MA. This was done by his 2nd wife, Eleanor (Cooper) Patterson and her nephew David A Cooper. And ever since geranium etc have been planted above his ashes.
