Note:   Information provided by Tommy Lewis Kircher: OBIT BELTON HERALD Friday July 15, 1898 The funeral of Leonard, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. James Edelen took place here yesterday, at 2 o'clock from the C. P. Church. The little boy died Tuesday at Wagner, Oklahoma, of heart failure. Leonard had gone with his father to a ranch near Wagner some weeks ago, and was staying there until Mr. Edelen returned from Georgia, where he had gone to buy a lot of cattle. He was sick only three days. His death occurred at the home of a friend of the family, at Wagner. He was a remarkably bright boy and the family is deeply stricken over his untimely death. T. B. (Thomas Brown) Edelen, uncle of the boy, brought the remains to Belton Wednesday. The parents arriving yesterday morning. The whole community here where the parents are well known sympathize with them deeply in their great affliction. The burial took place in the Belton cemetery.
