Reference: The McAfee Family of Scotland, Ireland and America - Also The Matthew Forsythe Decendants, page 96: Katherine Harris of Versailles, Kentucky sent the following information -- Sally Crockett's father, William, and his wife lived in Waxhaw, Union County, North Carolina when Sally was a small child. They lived near Andrew Jackson and Sally played with him when they were small children. Sally and her parents may have attended the Waxhaw Church. Her brother was Colonel Anthony Crockett of Revolutionary fame. The family have always been told that Sally rode a horse to Kentucky with a young colored girl behind her to join her brother, Colonel Anthony. The 1830 federal census for Mercer Co., Kentucky, Unknown Townships 2, page 364, (page 119 of 130 Ancestry.com), shows the following information for Sarah Cardwell: 1 Free white male 10 and under 15 1 Free white male 15 and under 20 2 Free white males 20 and under 30 1 Free white male 40 and under 50 1 Free white female 10 and under 15 1 Free white female 60 and under 70 1 Female slave 55 and under 100 1 Male Free Colored Person 55 and under 100 9 Total
