Edelen Knowing my time is short and I am so anxious for my poor child Katie Goddard who is without a home to have one. I give her everything I possess on this earth today. --- cash, fur ---- wearing apparel, jewelry, Bric a Brac everything except what Allen has given me. I want him to take Georgia, Allen and their father have good homes. I want what I have put in a home and deeded to Mrs R. E. Goddard and children this property never to be taken for debt of any kind. Nichols The 1900 federal census for Mercer Co., Kentucky shows that her parents were born in Virginia. The 1910 federal census for Boyle Co., Kentucky shows that she was the mother of three children, all of whom were still living in 1910. MRS. LEN G. EDELEN LAID TO FINAL REST Member of One of the State's Oldest Families passes Away in Mercer Danville, Ky. July 17 -- Mrs Len G. Edelen died yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. E. Goddard, in Harrodsburg. The funeral services were held this afternoon at the Edelen home and interment followed in the Bellevue Cemetery. Mrs. Edelen was a member of one of Kentucky's most prominent families, a daughter of the late William Tarkington, and was sixty-nine years of age. A remarkable coincidence was that the day of her death was the fifty-first anniversary of her marriage. She is survived by her husband, L. G. Edelen, and three children. L. G. Edelen of Danville, Mrs R. E. Goddard of Harrodsburg, and Mrs. B. L. Eaton of Wichita, Kan She is survived by two sisters Mrs. James A. Shutlesworth of Louisville, and Mrs. James Tarkington of this county Dr E. M. Green, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, of which she was a devoted member for many years, conducted the services. Many beautiful floral offerings covered the grave, and a large concourse of mourning friends were present at the final rites.
