Birthdate as received from Patsy LYLES Scalf (R-158) (7/16/93). 8 Dec 1885 birthdate also on faint copies of old family record--source unkown, listing births in the Bridges family. This record also list birthplace as Montague Co. Lois Osborn has birthdate of 8 Oct 1885.
 Aunt Patsy says she was from near Greenville and that there is where she met T.V. Lyles. Roy Ballew tells that Lyles went to Greenville to a fair and met her there. Anita Sue (RIN 605) says that her mother, Susie, related that Susan Oather was riding on a merry-go-round when T.V. saw her. (Their marriage license gives his name as T.V. and hers as Oather. They were married by Rev. James Hill.) Susie says that when the children were small and they were living in Wise Co., when the family went on a picnic, T.V. would weave a garland of flowers to put on Oather's head, saying that she was the prettiest woman he ever saw.
 Shed died of pneumonia.
