Note: ORIGIN OF THE NAME RICHARDSON The name RICHARDSON, as the implies, comes from fron the son of RICHARD. It is the opinion of the Onomatolgist that the name RICHARD, which has the meaning of "RULE HARD", comes from France where the name was RECORD or RICOART. A family of the name RICOART was iliving in Normandy France in the 1200's. The record show that a member of the RECORD family was among the troops of William The Conqueror when he came from France into England and had the battle of Hastings in 1066. It is known that the majority of his troops remained in England and the RECORD name was changed to RICHARD, and then the son of a RICHARD, changed the name to RICHARDSON, to distinguish him from his father. Marriage license issued at Navarro County but I was always told that they got married at Oletha in Limestone County.
