a. Note:   Norway,Vaase(Waale Sogn) Trained as a machinist on Chicago , moved to Janesville, worked in factory as a toolmaker and later bought the farm on Mineral Point Rd. Farm was about 35 acres, bred Duroc pigs, raised leaf tobacco(cigar wrappers), sold eggs, chickens, grapes, sweet corn, etc for cash crop to local grocers. 1920 listed as tobacco farmer. 1900 in Janesvile WI at 21 N. Vista, ward 3, employed as a machinist. Abt 1905 moved to 6 Gore. 1907 listed as Foreman at Rock River Machine Co., and Gore. 1909/1910 at farm but listed as a machinist.. 1910 census states he immigrated in 1888, occupation as tool maker in machine shop. Vaale and Botne eventually were merged into Holmestrand by 1964. 1905 WI census living in ward 3 in Janesville (name spelled Deahly), employed as a machinist. Farm in Janesville is probably a remodeled home at 2833 Mineral Point Ave. It was sold 4/1/1991 -the date Baldwin died and was built in 1890 with a partial basement 1 floor living area. Driveway curves as it did in the past.
