a. Note:   Joel and Sarah lived in and around Rhea and Roane Counties Tennessee with Joel working as a Carpenter and Farmer until sometime in 1893 or 1895 when they moved back to the Powell District of Scott County, Virginia where he died in 1911. No record can be found of his death or place of burial. My father Robert Emmett Rogers, Joel's son told me that Sarah married a man named Yokum after Joel died. I cannot find any record of the date of death or place of burial for Joel and Sarah.
