Note: Emil Halle, very little is know about this relative. We always heard that he was murdered in South America. Iquitos, Peru we are told is in the Amazon. This territory has always been known to be quite dangerous. We can only assume that he was on a business trip, with two other men as we are told and his death took place there. His father, Salomon was a fur merchant and manufacturer in Bochum and maybe he was on a buying trip for him. Letter from Iquitos, Peru in response to my request on information of the death of Emil Halle. The German Cosulate had been closed down from 1965 to 1995; in '65 the Consul retired and apparently moved to Europe. He did his best to conserve "the past" and so all the existing files have been stored away for future use - nobody suspected that it would take 30 years to reopen the office, so that water, mould and insects destroyed everthing I'm very sorry not to be able to help you. Best wishes. BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUISCHLAND Republica Federal De Alemania Max A.G. Druschke Honorarkonsul Consul Honorario
