Note: Kent Co. Delaware land record Book G page 128 dated 12 Feb 1722, said the grantor Robert Meredith, senior was from Dorchester Co., Md. and the land called, "The Addition", was next to land occupied by Robert Meredith in Kent Co., Delaware. It is assumed that the land record in it's last reference to Robert Meredith, is referring to Robert Meredith junior who later was known to own & live on the land referred to as being adjacent. Job Meredith administered the estate of Robert Meredith senior in Dorchester Co., Md. The inventory taken 10 Jun 1728 was signed by Hugh Meredith and Mary Cook, who appear to be heirs of Robert senior. Job Meredith sold land called Job's Chance" in Dorchester Co., Md. on 19 Mar 1741. Job Meredith died in Kent Co., Delaware prior to 7 Jul 1748 when Robert Meredith received a LOA to settle his estate. The name Hugh Meredith also appears along with Robert Meredith on the jacket of the probate record. Job Meredith never appeared in the tax lists for Kent Co. from 1726 til the time of his death in 1748. I have not found earlier tax lists. This indicates that Job was not a Delaware resident until near the time of his death. Both Robert jr. & Hugh Meredith were continueously shown on the Kent County, Del. tax lists from 1726 until their death's in 1767 and 1753. Robert was referred to as Robert Meredith jun only in the 1726 list. Both Robert jr, & Hugh named a son Job. The above items add up to a strong argument that Robert senior of Dorchester Co., Md. was the father of Hugh, Robert jr. & Job Meredith all of whom died in Kent Co., Delaware.
