a. Note:   ster of the ship Sarah which he may have brought to Burma. Charles had a brothes Hector and a sister who was named Margery and spellet that way by a friend or reletive. Dont know what happened to Hector but Margery got marred and went to New Zealand and settled there. Charles Joined the Police force and at the end of his career he was Deputy Superintendant of Police in Mandalay. He was a very strict man and there are storys of such as you read some of the notes of his children. One such story was that his daughter a young adult Merlyn came home two hours late at six in the evening and before she could get to the front door he told her off from the first floor balcony for comming home so late and called her a loose woman, she did not know what that word ment so she asked her brother my dad what a Prostitute was and he replyer Oh that is an old word but it doesent mean any thing, ofcourse she knew what it ment later on, this she told me when she was in her seventies. He had a great big colonial styled home and there is a pictures of the famous one being named " Homelay " meaning sort of Englishand Burmese mix word meaning" Our little home"?
