a. Note:   Max V. Beckenbaugh #28 has a copy of her will, as Sydney A. Kline of Washington County, MD. Records of the Cemeteries of Washington County, MD, gives her date of death as 7 Oct 1923. Middle name from LDS ancestral file 1VMM-7LB. Names of her parents from obituary of brother Preston Powell, which gives her son "Preston Beckenbaugh" as a nephew of Preston Powell. Possibly born in Greencastle, PA, because her brother Preston Powell was born there. Greencastle is just north of the border to Maryland and about 10-15 miles from Hagerstown and about 7 miles from Cearfoss, MD, where the Beckenbaugh family home was. In the 1900 census she has had 4 children, 4 living. Neither is correct; she has had 6 children and 5 are living. Perhaps the census taker counted only the living children at home.
b. Note:   rtificate the marriage location of Walter's parents is given as Hagerstown. This agrees with a handwritten entry in the Bible, seen when in the possession of Max Beckenbaugh and now (2011) in the possession of his son William Beckenbaugh.
