Funeral Tuesday, November 25 at 1:30 p.m. at Ziegenheim Brothers Chapel, 2628 Cherokee Street. Burial New St. Paul Cemetery. ************************************************************ Published in the November 22, 1919 edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: "IS THERE A GOD?" MAN ASKS, AND KILLS HIMSELF Proprietor of Tool Company Fires Bullet in His Breast at Grand Avenue and Arsenal Street. Persons standing at Grand avenue and Arsenal street at 12:15 a.m. today saw Joseph J. Schleinkofer, 40 years old turn his face upward and exclaim: "Is there a God?" Then he drew a revolver and fired a bullet into his left breast. He died immediately. Schleinkofer was 40 years old and the proprietor of the Ideal Tool & Machine Co., 22 South Broadway. He resided with his wife, Elizabeth, at 3119 Nebraska avenue. No reason for his act could be learned. Two women and two men were standing hear him when he ended his life. Members of his family said he attended church regularly. A son and a daughter survie, in addition to his wife. ************************************************************
