Funeral from Arthur J. Donnelly Parolors; 3840 Lindell Blvd., on Thursday, July 27 9:30 a.m. to St. Louis Cathedral for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment Calvary Cemetery.

  MARIE K. RABBITT DIES; MOTHER OF 2 FORMER STATE OFFICEHOLDERS
  A funeral Mass for Marie K. Rabbitt, mother of former state representative Peter J. J. Rabbitt and former Speaker of the Missouri House Richard Rabbitt, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Louis Cathedral. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The former Marie Schaan, 82 of St. Louis, died of a heart attack Monday, July 24, 1978 at Barnes Hospital. Richard Rabbitt was elected to the House of Representatives in 1960, shortly after he graduated from law school. He was elected House speaker in 1972 and narrowly lost the 1976 race for lieutenant governor. Peter Rabbitt was a state representative from Shrewsbury from 1958 to 1964 and considered running for state treasurer in 1968. He now is an attorney. Mrs. Rabbitt's husband, Peter J. Rabbitt Sr., died in 1948. She is survived by sons Peter and Richard, and a daughter, Jean Rabbitt Cary, all of St. Louis.
