My Sarah Roads was born in 1795 and was married to William Platt in Highland County, Ohio in 1815. They later moved to Tippecanoe County, Indiana and spent most of the rest of their lives there. Sarah died in Cass County, Indiana in 1883. I think Sarah is Jacob's daughter because she and her husband were living next door to him in the 1830 census. Also Sarah's son (my gggg-grandfather) was named Jacob R. and I suspect the R. might have stood for Roads. Thanks! *** Re: Jacob and Abraham Roads, Hampshire County, VA, 1776 Posted by: Lynda Roades (ID *****2343) Date: September 24, 2004 at 09:50:50 In Reply to: Jacob and Abraham Roads, Hampshire County, VA, 1776 by Phil Hyatt of 92 Jacob and Abraham were brothers and moved from Virginia to Highland County, Ohio in the early 1800's. The county paper published an article on Abraham (with mention of Jacob)this summer. If you're interested, send me an email and I'll get you a scanned copy. Of interest (possibly)--some of Abraham's descendents moved to the Oklahoma Territory and still live there. Some of Jacob's descendents still live in Highland Co., Ohio. *** http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?highland::roads::19.html Will of Valentine Roads, d. 1835 OH Posted by: Teresa Whiting Date: September 27, 2000 at 16:59:40 of 92 Transcribed from the courthouse records in Hillsboro, Highland County, Ohio: Will of Valentine Roads - signed 22 June 1823, probated 21 November 1835 I Vallentine Roads of the County of Highland in the State of Ohio do make & publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made.
