  Caleb, the youngest child of Daniel Cone and Mahitable Spencer was born in Haddam Connecticut in 1679, and baptized in the Middletown Cong.Church, March 19, 1682
 Records read as follows:
 Caleb the son of Daniel Cone of Haddam, his wife Elizabeth............. a member of ye church at Lyn.
 He married in Haddam, Dec. 16, 1701? Elizabeth__________, who died there November 11, 1714. He married Elizabeth Cunningham September 6, 1723. He lived was born and died on the same land upon which his father had made his first settlement, and was buried within sight of the old homestead, the inscription reading as follows: "Here lies interred ye body of Captain Caleb Cone, who died Sept 23, 1743 in ye 64th year of his age."
 He was a member of the General Court in 1731,1732, 1733, 1734, 1735, and again in 1739. He held the position of Captain in the Colonial Troops for a number of years, and filled other responsible positions.
