Note: Solomon Seaman was [sometimes] called "Simmons" and lived in Hempstead, Long Island, NY. His will was dated May 20, 1728. [Heritage Books Inc., New York Abstracts of Wills, 1665-1801 (CD #9), (Bowie, MD: Heritage Books, 1997), "CD-ROM," 4:209, NOTE: the "Proved" [March 13, 1748] date precedes the "written" [May 20, 1748] date in the transcription. The original will should be consulted to resolve this obvious error.] He was a witness in court 1677 and 1682. He was taxed in 1683, 164 pounds, 13s, 4d. He is listed as a freeholder in 1685 with 163 acres.
