Note: Thomas Seaman was a resident of Westbury, Long Island, NY. He died age 92 years. Thomas Seaman lived and died on the farm in Westbury, which his father, Nathaniel, had bought from Henry Willis, who in 1688 had purchased the land from Captain John Seaman, and named it Westbury after the "Westbury in Old England," from where they had come. He built " a good framed house" upon it, and here both Thomas Seaman and his son Gideon lived and died. On May 5, 1779 Thomas Seaman bought "one Negro man named Jacob about fifty years old" from Benjamin Townsend, for the sum of forty pounds, in order to set the man free.Thomas Seaman of Northcastle, Westchester, NY.
